Bishop or Clergy Pay for Therapy Services

Many individuals and families receive assistance from their bishop or clergy leader to help pay for therapy. If you’re part of a faith community that offers financial support, we’re here to make the process smooth and respectful.

How Bishop or Clergy Pay Works

Some churches, including congregations within The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, offer financial assistance for counseling through local leaders. This support is often referred to as Bishop Pay or Clergy Pay.

Here’s how the process usually works:

  • You speak with your bishop or clergy member about your desire to begin therapy.

  • If approved, they may cover all or part of your session fees.

  • Willow Therapy can provide documentation or invoices as needed, while maintaining your privacy.

We are familiar with this process and are happy to collaborate with your bishop or church office to ensure billing is handled appropriately and discreetly.

Respectful, Confidential Coordination

We work to honor both your spiritual values and emotional health needs. All communication regarding clergy support is handled with care and confidentiality.

Whether you’re seeking therapy for anxiety, family conflict, trauma, or postpartum support, we’re committed to making services accessible—financially, emotionally, and spiritually.

Why Clients Choose Clergy Pay

Therapy is an important step toward healing, but for some, the financial cost can feel like a barrier. Many of our clients choose to involve their faith leaders because they want support not just emotionally, but spiritually. Clergy pay allows you to:

  • Begin therapy sooner without financial strain

  • Receive care that aligns with your values and beliefs

  • Engage in services that address both spiritual and emotional well-being

  • Access therapy for individuals, couples, teens, or families

This kind of support reflects your community’s desire to care for the whole person—and we’re here to be part of that circle of care.

Types of Therapy Covered by Clergy Support

Every congregation may set its own guidelines, but clergy and bishops often approve therapy services related to:

  • Marital or couples counseling

  • Teen and adolescent therapy

  • Pornography or addiction recovery

  • Family conflict or parenting issues

  • Emotional struggles such as anxiety, depression, or grief

  • Postpartum and motherhood support

  • Faith-based counseling that integrates your spiritual identity
