What this can sound like
- I spend all day performing normal, and I’m exhausted by the time I get home.
- I didn’t get diagnosed until I was an adult, and it explained so much.
- I know what I need to do, I just can’t make myself start.
- Loud rooms and small talk drain me faster than anyone seems to understand.
- I don’t need to be fixed. I need support that actually fits how my brain works.
You don’t need to be fixed. You deserve support that fits.
Support That Starts From Acceptance
Neurodivergent-affirming therapy means we approach autism, ADHD, and other forms of neurodivergence as natural variations in how brains work, not deficits to correct. The goal isn’t to make you appear more neurotypical. It’s to help you understand your own patterns and build a life that actually works for you.
That includes support for the practical side, like executive functioning and sensory needs, and the emotional side, like the toll of years spent masking, or the anxiety and depression that can build up from not fitting expected molds.
You don’t need a formal diagnosis to start. Many people come in still exploring whether autism, ADHD, or both fit their experience, sometimes after a family member’s diagnosis prompts a closer look at themselves. Please note: we don’t currently offer formal diagnostic testing, but therapy doesn’t require one to begin.
You don’t need to be fixed. You deserve support that fits how your brain actually works.
What This Can Look Like
You may recognize one of these, or several together.
Masking & social exhaustion
Working hard to appear neurotypical in social or work settings, and feeling drained afterward.
Sensory sensitivities
Strong reactions to noise, light, textures, or crowded spaces that others don’t seem to notice.
Executive functioning challenges
Difficulty with time management, task initiation, organization, or follow-through, despite genuinely trying.
Late diagnosis or self-identification
Recognizing autistic or ADHD traits in adulthood, sometimes after a child’s diagnosis prompts a closer look at yourself.
Meltdowns or shutdowns
Becoming overwhelmed to the point of intense distress or complete withdrawal, often after prolonged masking or sensory overload.
Difficulty with unwritten social rules
Finding unspoken social expectations confusing or exhausting to keep track of.
Hyperfocus & special interests
Deep, sustained focus on specific interests, alongside difficulty engaging with things outside of them.
Anxiety or depression from years of not fitting the mold
The cumulative toll of feeling different, misunderstood, or like you have to work harder than others for the same result.

Support that works with how your brain actually works, rather than pushing you toward neurotypical norms as the goal.
Executive functioning support
Practical, individualized systems for time management, task initiation, and follow-through, built around your actual patterns.
Support for masking & burnout

Frequently Asked Questions
What does “neurodivergent-affirming” actually mean?
It means we start from the position that autism, ADHD, and other forms of neurodivergence are natural variations in how brains work, not deficits to be corrected. Therapy focuses on support, accommodation, and self-understanding, not on making you appear more neurotypical.
Do you provide autism or ADHD diagnostic testing?
No, we don’t currently offer formal diagnostic testing for autism or ADHD. We can talk through options for testing referrals, and therapy itself doesn’t require a formal diagnosis to begin.
Is this only for people with a formal diagnosis?
No. Many people come in suspecting they’re autistic, have ADHD, or both, without a formal diagnosis, sometimes after a child’s diagnosis prompts a closer look at themselves. That’s a completely valid reason to start.
Is this only for children?
No. This page is written primarily with teens and adults in mind. If you’re looking for more child-specific autism support, see our autism support page, which has a broader focus on younger children.
How is this different from your ADHD page?
Our ADHD page covers ADHD specifically. This page takes a broader neurodivergent-affirming lens, covering autism, ADHD, and the overlap between them, including for people who identify with both.
Can this help with anxiety or depression too?
Yes. Anxiety and depression are common alongside neurodivergence, often connected to years of masking or not fitting expected norms. See our anxiety therapy page as well.
Can this be done online?
Yes. All of the therapists listed above offer secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth therapy anywhere in Utah, which some neurodivergent clients find more comfortable than an office setting. In-person sessions are available in Pleasant Grove and Orem.
Is this covered by insurance?
Often, yes, particularly when paired with a diagnosis like anxiety, depression, ADHD, or autism, subject to your benefits. We accept most major insurance plans, and our team will verify your coverage before your first appointment. Check your coverage →
